VDR-NG-EM 0.6 on M750S and EPG

Hello,

I have a problem running VDR-NG-EM 0.6 on my M750S. After every reboot, the EPG is empty, no matter if I store the EPG data in /etv/vdr oder on a USB-STICK of on a NFS share.
The epg.data is generated, but no EPG information is shown after reboot and the data has to be regenerated.
No difference if I use direct write or not.
Has anyone an idea what is going wrong?

Although nobody in Spain has a M750S and can confirm that our firmware work correctly on this device, it is very strange that the EPG is not saved on shutdown or/and loaded on start.

The firmware was created on Windows or Linux?

When you installed the firmware and restarted, did you see factory reset messages in OSD?
Can you make a new factory reset?
Just create the directory /rw-flash/SI and reboot.

If it still not work, you can test to run this command by telnet:

restart-vdr

It kill vdr and start it again without reboot, to see if the EPG is lost on this occasion.

USB and network is mounted after of start VDR and for this reason will not load the EPG in other path different than flash on /etc.

thanks for the quick reply.
I used the windows installer, and installed the wsw-file directly on a original siemens firmware.
I will continue my examination with the storage of the epg.data directly in /etc/vdr, but not right now, I am recording something.
However, since the M750S receives lots of channels (and therefore epg data may become big), is there a way to mount the USB-STICK (or network) before starting the vdr?

You can try to make a symbolic link from /etc/vdr/epg.data to your stick-usb:

touch /var/media/USB-STICK/epg.data
rm -f /etc/vdr/epg.data
ln -sf /var/media/USB-STICK/epg.data /etc/vdr/epg.data
start-vdr

If EPG work, you can restart M750S y check if EPG is showed correctly from usb-stick.
