maximum size of the .ofi file

Hello,

I build an .ofi with your GRAET toolchain...

What is the max allowed size of the file.ofi? ...allowed for software update?

mine is created with the actual SVN is:
6929310 2010-01-13 11:22 201001131107-open7x0.org-m740.ofi

but the one created with the windows tool is:
6887935 2010-01-12 11:35 windowsVersion-open7x0.org-2010-01-12-1120.ofi

OFI file can contain:
- Kernel: 786.432 bytes
- RootFS: 6 MiB in M740 and 8 MiB in M750S
- JFFS2: 6.029.312 bytes in M740 and 3.932.160 bytes in M750S

In VDR-NG firmwares, OFI usually only includes Kernel + RootFS.

Windows and SVN versions are very different because in SVN there are many new changes.

6887935(windows) is bigger as 6.029.312?

What max size can my ofi have (included plugins)..?

or do you mean it can have:

0,75 + 6 + 5,75 MB?

Inside the ofi file you have kernel, rootfs and more things.

If you exceed the maximum rootfs size, you have an error like:

2MB free in rootfs, more or less.

Your OFI should be as maximum of 6 MiB + 786.432 bytes because JFFS2 not included in OFI although it could be.

I forgot to add ELF flasher size (0.5 MB approximately) included in OFI.
