timers seem to vanish sometimes
hey there again, guys.
so i'm still enjoying your FW and good work and am trying things and testing stuff. so i found out that some timers that i programmed seem to vanish without warning.
not all of them, though. meaning from the 12 or 15 timers i was programming on yesterday for the next days 2 were still there today. the rest was gone.
did anyone else experienced such a strange behaviour?
anything i can do about that?
cheers
jimmy

Re: timers seem to vanish sometimes
Hi Jimmy,
No, I haven't seen that behaviour before. Check the time of your box. You can try changing the channel the VDR gets the date and time from.

Re: timers seem to vanish sometimes
Hola,
I have recently upgraded to VDR-NG-EM 0.6 and I detected a similar problem.
In the log file I can found the following message:
--------------------log------------------------------------
Feb 26 23:07:27 (none) user.info vdr: [104] timer 4 (6 2145-2325 VPS 'Tatort: Krumme Hunde') start
Feb 26 23:07:27 (none) user.info vdr: [104] record /var/vdr/video0/Tatort:_Krumme_Hunde/2011-02-26.21.45.50.50.rec
Feb 26 23:07:27 (none) user.err vdr: [104] ERROR: /var/vdr/video0/Tatort:_Krumme_Hunde: Invalid argument
---------------------log--------------------------------
It seems that there is a problem in generating an appropriate name when special symbols are in the name.
Best Regards,
Eberhard

Re: timers seem to vanish sometimes
Hi tvebi,
There has been a change in VDR-NG-EM 0.6 version and it doesn't use the windows name codification by default. If you want to use a fat32 formatted hd instead of a ext2/3 one you have to change the settings.
Add --vfat (with an space before the -- not to interfere with previous parameters) in "vdr_options" located in the file /etc/rc.local.conf. You can change it alternatively in Configuración -> Configurar Firmware -> Configuración general -> Opciones del VDR.

Re: timers seem to vanish sometimes
so... i know more by now... i guess
it could have happened that the programmed timers where vanishing on occasion b/c there was no room left (in the box) to store them. i had a FW-file stored to the box (not to the connected usb), deleted it and since then (yesterday) everything seem to work as it should.
awww... and i have got my usb-hd formatted in ext2. so this couldn't have been the reason why this error happened.
thanks so far for everything. still hoping that you once are gonna install vps to the webif, though
cheers
